Hailey Vest is a New York–based director creating character-driven dramas and heartfelt comedies that explore family dynamics, equality, human rights, and authentic representation. She is drawn to stories that find humor and hope in everyday life while tackling difficult conversations with empathy, while never punching down.
After more than fifteen years as a working actor, Hailey transitioned behind the camera with a deep appreciation for performance and collaboration. She is passionate about building environments where actors feel safe to take risks, every department is valued, and the world of the story is approached with curiosity, kindness, and trust.
Having grown up on both the stage and the screen, she approaches storytelling without allegiance to a single medium. As a director, she is equally at home in film and theater, embracing the unique strengths each offers while remaining committed to telling stories that spark conversation and foster connection.
Her debut short film, First Date, premiered at the Charlotte Film Festival, where it received the Audience Fan Favorite Award. Whether she's directing an intimate family drama or a heartfelt comedy, Hailey is driven by one goal: to create stories that leave audiences feeling a little more connected to one another.
